If you’re a new client, fill out my tattoo request form here. This is the best way to start your booking process. I do my best to respond to each request within a week. For most new clients I prefer to do a consultation, especially for bigger projects. This way we can get to know each other, and I can understand the full scope of your project. Once you’ve filled out the form, I’ll be in touch to schedule your consultation, and book your appointment. A $100 deposit is required to book your appontment(s). This goes toward the cost of your tattoo. I ask for a deposit so we have a mutual respect for each of our time and energy. I take deposits with Zelle and Cash.

I love the roll of fate tattoos, how does it work?
The roll of fate is an experience of fate and chance. A way to access a tattoo meant just for you. I use cards i’ve designed and created with prompts of some of what I think makes for great tattoos. Some are animals, some adornments, some elements, within 3 categories. You will choose 3 cards, 1 from each category. Think of these as oracle or tarot cards. We’ll have a conversation around the symbolism of the prompts and how it relates to you. I will then conceptualize and draw a design based on our conversation and the 3 prompts. I’ve done quite a few of these now, and folks are really loving them. You can read some reviews here. Fill out my tattoo request form here to book an appointment.
Do you design tattoos ahead of time?
Most designs are created freehand directly on the body before tattooing. This ensures the artwork fits and flows naturally with your unique form. Ideas and references will be discussed beforehand and I will provide mock ups or thumbnail sketches as a proof of concept. It’s a collaborative experience where we get to weigh in on the process and how it’s flowing. The final design is drawn on at our first appointment and after we’re both happy and satisfied we start tattooing.
What does “freehand” mean?
Freehand tattooing means I draw your design directly onto the skin rather than applying a stencil. I will use various stenciling techniques from time to time for symmetry, time efficiency or realism.
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
I suggest preparing for a tattoo like you’d take a plane trip. Eat before hand. Dress comfortably with an awareness of where on the body your tattoo is going for accessibility. Bring and extra cover up or zip up sweater. Bring snacks and something to drink. Having headphones or a book is great to for keeping you entertained if needed.
Can I send you reference images?
Yes please! Reference images help jump start a conversation. A picture is worth a thousand words sometimes for conveying ideas. These are used for inspiration and discussion in creating you an original piece. You don’t need to send me picture of a tattoo of a rose, You can just send me rose photos. As an artist I want to give you a unique to you tattoo.
NOTE* I will never copy another artists work. It’s against my core values as an artist in this field. We can use images for ideas and reference but never for duplication.
How long will my tattoo take?
Time varies depending on the size, placement, and complexity of the design. For ongoing work on larger projects the first session is usually the longest for layout purposes. Afterwards we can split sessions up with a minimum wait time of two weeks between for healing.
How much will my tattoo Cost?
This question is always the hardest for a simple answer. I usually answer this question with a question; “How much is a bag of groceries?” Depends what’s in the bag… It comes down to the factors of size, complexity, placement, and color preference which all boils down to time. For larger custom work I charge an hourly rate of $250 an hour and I have a one hour minimum for all tattoos. For single session tattoos I will quote you a flat rate ahead of time before we start the tattoo.
What is the aftercare process?
You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions at the end of your session. You’ll need to keep the area clean, and moisturized until fully healed.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit of $100 is required to secure your appointment and will be applied toward the total cost of the tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable but transferable with adequate notice. Please send deposits through Zelle.
Can you tattoo over scars or old tattoos?
In many cases, yes. This depends on the condition, age, and placement of the existing tattoo or scar tissue. A consultation is recommended to assess the area and discuss options.
What if I need to reschedule?
I kindly ask for 48 hours notice if you need to cancel. I understand life happens, and that’s not always possible. Please email info@adamguyhays.com if you need to reschedule your appointment. No shows/no communication will result in a loss of your deposit.
